The Crusader Spear Award consists of an engraved wooden mahogany mkuki sculpture, together with a diploma, presented by Prof. Boaz Adhengo, Ph.D, Litt. D. at a festive ceremony during the biennial Rural Christian Chaplains of Africa convention.
The selection criteria include the aesthetic and literary qualities of crusader writing and campaigns as well as the ability to see things from the unchurched point of view and the ability to stretch the curiosity and imagination of the Church.
The awards recognise the impact our staff, associates, students and external partners are having on the social wellbeing of our Christian communities at the marketplace; offering the opportunity to share best practices about Mission Mobility Initiatives and encourage others to get involved.
